Role Overview
Tradewind are seeking a dedicated and engaging Academic Tutor to support students within a school setting in Chorley. This role is ideal for an experienced educator or specialist tutor looking for consistent, high-impact afternoon sessions. You will be working with students to boost attainment and confidence in core subjects during a critical period of the academic year.
Working Hours (8 Hours Per Week)
This is a part-time, fixed-term position with the following schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
- Friday: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 or small group tuition tailored to student needs.
- Focus on core subject areas to help students bridge learning gaps.
- Monitor student progress and provide brief feedback to the school's department lead.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment to build student confidence.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record of tutoring or teaching within a school environment.
- Subject Knowledge: Strong proficiency in English, Maths, or Science (KS3/KS4).
- Communication: Ability to build quick rapport with students and staff.
- Compliance: Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Reliability: As this is a 6-week intervention, consistent attendance is vital.
