Role Overview

Tradewind are seeking a dedicated and engaging Academic Tutor to support students within a school setting in Chorley. This role is ideal for an experienced educator or specialist tutor looking for consistent, high-impact afternoon sessions. You will be working with students to boost attainment and confidence in core subjects during a critical period of the academic year.

Working Hours (8 Hours Per Week)

This is a part-time, fixed-term position with the following schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Friday: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality 1:1 or small group tuition tailored to student needs.
  • Focus on core subject areas to help students bridge learning gaps.
  • Monitor student progress and provide brief feedback to the school's department lead.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment to build student confidence.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record of tutoring or teaching within a school environment.
  • Subject Knowledge: Strong proficiency in English, Maths, or Science (KS3/KS4).
  • Communication: Ability to build quick rapport with students and staff.
  • Compliance: Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • Reliability: As this is a 6-week intervention, consistent attendance is vital.
