Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across a well-established trust of schools in Chesterfield. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across a variety of school settings, supporting pupils who may face barriers to learning due to behavioural, emotional, or mental health challenges.
The Role
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
- Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Promoting positive behaviour and implementing behaviour support strategies.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external agencies.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or challenging behaviour.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Pay Information
Daily rates typically range from 95 to 120 per day, depending on experience, availability, and the specific requirements of the school.
