We are recruiting on behalf of a respected trust of specialist schools in Chesterfield for an experienced PRU Teacher to work on a supply basis across alternative provision settings. This role involves working with students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs within a Pupil Referral Unit environment, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons while providing consistent behavioural and emotional support.
The successful candidate will be confident managing challenging behaviour, building positive relationships with students and creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment that promotes both academic and personal development.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have previous experience working within a PRU or alternative provision setting
- Have experience supporting students with SEMH needs
- Be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of abilities
- Demonstrate resilience, adaptability and strong communication skills
- Be passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
