High Needs SEN Teacher - Chesterfield Location: Chesterfield Contract: Supply / Temporary Start Date: ASAP Pay: £160-£240 per day, depending on experience Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a High Needs SEN Teacher to work within a specialist school in Chesterfield, which forms part of a well-established and highly regarded Multi-Academy Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting, working with pupils who have a range of complex and additional needs. The role is offered on a supply basis, providing flexibility while offering the opportunity to work within an established and supportive school environment. The Role As a High Needs SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for: Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupils' needs. Supporting pupils with a range of complex and high-level SEND. Creating a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment. Developing positive relationships with pupils and understanding their individual needs. Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and behaviour where required. Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team to provide consistent support. Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly. Supporting pupils to develop both academically, socially and personally. Following individual education plans, EHCP outcomes and relevant school policies. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a teacher who is: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or holds an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Experienced working with pupils with SEN, particularly high needs or complex needs. Confident adapting teaching and learning to meet a wide range of individual needs. Calm, patient, resilient and nurturing in their approach. Confident with behaviour management and supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour. Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils. Comfortable working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SLT and other professionals. Passionate about providing high-quality education and improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs.Experience within a specialist SEN school, Alternative Provision or a setting supporting pupils with complex needs would be highly desirable. Pay The role is advertised at £160-£240 per day, depending on experience. We recognise that experienced SEN Teachers with a strong background in high-needs or complex SEND can bring significant specialist knowledge to a setting. Candidates with substantial relevant experience may therefore be considered towards the higher end of the pay scale.
