Catering Supervisor

Tradewind Recruitment are supporting a Birmingham secondary academy seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Catering Supervisor to join their team. This is a key role at an exciting time, as the school works to improve its catering service and provide an enjoyable, high-quality dining experience for students.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take a lead role in the day-to-day running of the catering service, ensuring high standards of food production, hygiene, safety and customer care. This position is full time, term-time plus one week (37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 07:00-15:00). Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of menus and food production
• Oversee meal service, food preparation and safe storage
• Maintain accurate hygiene and safety records
• Manage stock, ordering, deliveries and cost control
• Lead, support and develop catering staff
• Promote excellent service and a positive dining experience
• Contribute to financial monitoring and reporting

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in large-scale catering, ideally in education
• Hygiene Certificate (essential); catering qualification desirable
• Strong organisation and leadership skills
• Positive approach, high standards and commitment to healthy eating
• Enhanced DBS required
