Are you an experienced Catering Manager with a passion for delivering high-quality food and excellent service? Do you have strong organisational and leadership skills and enjoy working in a busy school environment? We're looking for a reliable and experienced Catering Manager to join a secondary school on the Wirral, with an immediate opportunity available.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Catering Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the school catering provision. You'll be responsible for managing the catering team, coordinating food preparation and service, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety, and ensuring students and staff receive a welcoming and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen and catering service
  • Lead, support, and organise the catering team
  • Plan menus and oversee food preparation and service
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety
  • Monitor stock levels, orders, and food costs
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently and to a high standard
  • Work closely with school staff to ensure the smooth running of the catering provision

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a catering management or supervisory role
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A professional, reliable, and proactive approach
  • A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous experience working within a school or education setting
  • Relevant food hygiene, catering, or hospitality qualifications
  • Experience managing catering budgets, stock, and food orders
