Catering Assistant Alternative Provision Burnley
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at a nurturing alternative provision school in Burnley. This is a permanent, part-time opportunity with a great work-life balance, operating on a daily schedule of 9am to 2pm.
The Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in providing nutritious and delicious meals for our students and staff. You will work as part of a small, friendly team, supporting the Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen and dining hall.
Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Assisting with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Serving: Serving meals to students and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Cleaning: Ensuring the kitchen, dining hall, and all catering equipment are kept clean and hygienic.
- Stock Management: Assisting with receiving deliveries and storing food and supplies correctly.
- Health & Safety: Adhering to all food safety and health and safety regulations.

Requirements
- Experience in a catering or food service role is highly desirable.

- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety is essential (e.g., Level 2 Food Safety certificate).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A reliable and punctual approach.
Hours & Salary
Hours: 9am – 2pm daily, term-time only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
