Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to work across a trust of schools in the Rotherham area on a flexible supply basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced SEN support staff who are passionate about helping children thrive in an inclusive educational environment while benefiting from the flexibility that supply work offers.
Role
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism
- Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Assisting teachers in delivering tailored learning activities
- Helping to create a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment
- Encouraging independence, engagement, and confidence in pupils
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with autism/SEN
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Flexibility to work across different school settings
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
