Tradewind are seeking a confident, proactive, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a friendly secondary school in Carnforth. This role is perfect for an experienced classroom assistant, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or a retired professional looking to give back to the local community.
Starting on 1st June, you will provide vital support across the school during the busy final half-term, ensuring that students remain on task and productive in the absence of their regular teachers.
The Role
- Classroom Management: Oversee and manage a classroom of students, ensuring a focused and positive learning environment.
- Delivery of Work: Deliver pre-planned lessons left by the class teacher across various subjects (no subject-specific expertise is required).
- Support & Guidance: Assist students with their work, answering questions and providing encouragement.
- Policy Adherence: Follow the school's behaviour policy and ensure students are adhering to high standards of conduct.
- No Planning or Marking: The beauty of this role is that all work is provided for you - no out-of-hours planning is required!
The Ideal Candidate
- Confidence: The ability to stand at the front of a classroom and lead a group of young people.
- Resilience: A calm and patient approach when managing challenging behaviour.
- Adaptability: Comfortable moving between different subjects throughout the school day.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or teenagers (coaching, youth work, or school-based roles) is highly desirable.
