Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a welcoming secondary school in the Crosby area in the recruitment of a dedicated and patient Tutor to provide basic English and Maths support for a Year 9 pupil. This flexible tutoring role is to start as soon as possible and will continue until the summer holidays. The school can offer flexibility around days and times, making this an ideal opportunity for tutors seeking part-time work that can fit around other commitments. Half-day sessions may also be considered.
About the role
- Provide tailored 1:1 support in basic English and Maths for a Year 9 pupil.
- Deliver engaging sessions focused on building confidence, literacy and numeracy skills.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs and learning pace of the student.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages progress and engagement.
- Work closely with school staff to monitor progress and support the pupil's development.
- Flexible working pattern: a couple of days per week, with half days considered.
What we’re looking for
- Experience supporting young people with English and Maths, ideally at secondary level.
- A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach to tutoring.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver sessions suited to individual learning needs.
