Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a well-regarded secondary school in the Crosby area to recruit a motivated and skilled Teacher of Resistant Materials for a long-term supply role. This position is to start as soon as possible and offers an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Design & Technology department within a welcoming secondary school environment.
About the role
- Teach Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons covering materials, design processes and workshop skills.
- Support students in developing creativity, problem-solving and technical knowledge.
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Promote positive behaviour and high expectations for learning.
What we’re looking for
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Resistant Materials or Design Technology within a UK secondary school.
- Strong classroom and workshop management skills.
- Knowledge of workshop health and safety procedures and safe use of machinery/tools.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
