An Outstanding school in the Cambridge CB1 area is seeking to appoint a passionate and experienced SENCO to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. About the SENCO Role

As SENCO, you will play a key role in leading and developing SEND provision across the school. Working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies, you will ensure students receive the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the school's SEND provision
  • Identify and assess students with special educational needs
  • Develop and implement effective support strategies and intervention plans
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure inclusive classroom practice
  • Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and professionals
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate SEND records
  • Support staff development and provide guidance on SEND best practice
  • Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND legislation and policies

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have previous SENCO experience or hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (desirable)
  • Be passionate about inclusive education and student wellbeing
