Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join an outstanding primary special school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT with a genuine interest in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The school caters for pupils with significant additional educational needs across the primary age range and provides a warm, nurturing and highly supportive learning environment.
The Role
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Support pupils with a range of SEND needs, including Autism.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Develop positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and professionals.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school staff.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Promote independence, confidence and a love of learning.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Take an active role in your own professional development.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an ECT.
- Experienced in, or passionate about, working with pupils with SEND and Autism.
- Warm, patient, resilient and nurturing.
- Creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching.
- Organised and committed to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Committed to inclusion and improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Experience within a special school, SEND provision, autism setting or mainstream school with SEND experience would be highly desirable.
