This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people and helping pupils make progress both academically and personally. Please note: School-Based Experience is Essential Only applicants who have previously worked within schools or an education setting will be considered for this position. Applicants must have relevant, hands-on experience working with pupils in a school environment. While experience in a secondary school is highly desirable, candidates with transferable experience from other educational settings may also be considered where appropriate. This role would particularly suit a Teaching Assistant who has already developed a strong understanding of classroom routines, pupil support and working effectively alongside teaching staff. The Role As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide effective support to pupils across the school. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils in lessons, helping them to engage with their learning and complete classroom activities. Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and develop confidence. Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra assistance with their academic, social or emotional development. Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and maintaining a positive, purposeful learning environment. Helping pupils to remain focused, motivated and engaged throughout lessons. Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate. Building positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers. Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to maintain high standards across the classroom and wider school. Providing practical and pastoral support to pupils where required. Contributing to the wider life of the school and working as part of a dedicated education team. What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will ideally have: A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Previous experience working in a UK school or education setting - this is essential. Experience supporting children or young people within a classroom environment. A genuine passion for education and supporting pupils to achieve their potential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, positive and adaptable approach. The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team. A professional approach to safeguarding, confidentiality and pupil welfare. The confidence to support pupils both independently and alongside qualified teachers. Pay & Experience The daily rate for this position is £95-£110 per day, depending on previous experience. Candidates with more than one year's experience working in a UK secondary school will be considered for a higher rate of £100-£110 per day, depending on the depth and relevance of their experience.
