Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and ambitious Secondary School in Bury, who are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable GCSE Tutors across the core subjects of Maths, English and Science. This is an excellent opportunity for education professionals who have genuine experience working within schools or educational settings and are passionate about helping secondary-aged pupils build confidence, improve their attainment and achieve their GCSE potential.
The successful GCSE Tutor will provide targeted one-to-one or small-group academic support to pupils across GCSE Maths, English and/or Science. You may be working with pupils who require additional support with areas of the curriculum, helping to close gaps in knowledge, reinforcing learning from the classroom or preparing students for upcoming GCSE examinations. The school is looking for tutors who can make learning engaging and accessible while adapting their approach to suit different abilities, learning styles and individual needs.
The role would suit experienced tutors, teaching assistants, cover supervisors, graduates with relevant educational experience and qualified teachers looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact on pupil progress.

Applicants must have previous experience working within a school or educational setting. Candidates without relevant experience in education will not be considered. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils in a school or educational environment
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English and/or Science
- Experience supporting pupils with their academic development
- The ability to explain complex topics clearly and confidently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, supportive and encouraging approach
- The ability to adapt tutoring sessions to individual pupil needs
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
A Bachelor's degree in Maths, English or a Science subject would be highly desirable. Candidates with relevant degrees and educational experience will be considered, particularly where their academic background aligns with the GCSE subject they are looking to tutor. Previous GCSE tutoring experience is highly desirable, with candidates who have at least three months' prior GCSE tutoring experience eligible for the higher tutoring rate. QTS-qualified teachers are particularly encouraged to apply.
Pay: £20-£40 per Hour
- £20 per hour - Candidates with less than 1 year's experience working within an educational setting
- £30 per hour - Candidates with at least 3 months' previous GCSE tutoring experience
- £40 per hour - Qualified Teachers with QTS
