Tradewind Recruitment are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in the Bury St Edmunds area from January 2027. This is a great opportunity for a Food Technology specialist to take responsibility for the subject across the school, with support from the wider leadership team.
The Role
- Teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons
- Teach GCSE Food and support students through their coursework and assessments
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons effectively
- Mark students' work and assess progress
- Support students with their NEA assessments
- Work alongside the Head of Faculty, who will provide support
- Contribute to the wider life of the school
You would be the sole Food Technology teacher, so this role would suit someone who is confident working independently and has a good understanding of the GCSE Food curriculum.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has QTS or relevant teaching experience
- Has experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary setting
- Has experience delivering GCSE Food
- Understands the requirements of NEA assessment
- Can plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
- Is confident managing a classroom and supporting students' progress
- Is enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about their subject

- Location: Bury St Edmunds
- Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Teaching days: 4 or 5 days a week considered.
