We are working in partnership with a highly regarded all through school in Northampton seeking an enthusiastic and talented English & Drama Teacher to join their successful department from September 2026. This is a full-time permanent opportunity, teaching students across Year 5 to Year 8 within a supportive, creative and ambitious educational environment. This role would suit a teacher who can bring English and Drama to life through engaging lessons, while helping students develop their confidence, imagination and communication skills.

About the Role:
  • Teach engaging English and Drama lessons across Years 5-8
  • Deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum that develops reading, writing, performance and communication skills
  • Inspire students through a broad range of literary texts, creative writing opportunities and practical Drama activities
  • Encourage confidence, self-expression and critical thinking through performance, discussion and collaboration
  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that challenge and support students of varying abilities
  • Monitor student progress and provide high-quality feedback to support excellent outcomes
  • Create a positive classroom environment where students feel confident to participate and succeed
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through productions, clubs, enrichment activities and events
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive and well-resourced department
Who We're Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong subject knowledge in English, with an interest or experience in Drama
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (experience across Key Stage 2/3 or transition years would be advantageous)
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning
  • The ability to inspire students and build strong relationships
  • High expectations for student achievement, behaviour and personal development
  • Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills
