As a Therapeutic Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support within the school environment. You will provide targeted interventions, promote emotional wellbeing, and support students in developing the skills and resilience needed to succeed in school. Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies, you will contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support for students with additional needs.
- Supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and SEND.
- Delivering therapeutic and pastoral interventions to improve engagement and wellbeing.
- Assisting students in managing emotions, behaviour and relationships.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Supporting classroom learning and encouraging participation.
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching and pastoral staff.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.

- Previous experience working in a school, college or educational environment.
