This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with primary‑aged children in a fun, engaging and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high‑quality wraparound care before and after the school day, ensuring children feel safe, happy and supported while taking part in a range of exciting activities.

As a Before & After School Club Playworker, you will help create a positive atmosphere where children can relax, socialise and enjoy a variety of creative, educational and physical activities. You will work closely with the wider school team to ensure every child has a positive experience.
Key responsibilities
- Supervising children before and after the school day in a safe and welcoming environment.
- Planning and delivering a range of fun, age‑appropriate activities including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play and themed sessions.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting children's social and emotional development.
- Preparing and serving light snacks while following food hygiene procedures.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Supporting children with differing needs to ensure an inclusive environment.
- Following school safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour policies.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents and school staff.
- Assisting with setting up and tidying away equipment each session.
Ideal candidate
- Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting.
- A friendly, patient and approachable manner.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- A flexible and reliable approach to work.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
