The Role
We are looking for a dedicated Year 5 Teaching Assistant who shares our commitment to inclusivity and academic excellence. This role requires a balance of general classroom support and 1:1 intervention, ensuring that every student, regardless of their specific needs, can thrive in Upper Key Stage 2.
- Key Responsibilities
- Academic Support: Facilitating access to learning for all pupils, particularly focusing on our priority of reading and literacy.
- 1:1 & Group Support: Providing 'side-by-side' assistance to help students navigate varied learning needs and keep pupils on track with the KS2 curriculum.
- Classroom Partnership: Assisting the Class Teacher with setting up lessons, preparing resources, printing, and maintaining an organised learning environment.
- Holistic Care: Working alongside our committed Nurture Team to support the social and emotional well-being of our students.
- Professional Standards: Maintaining accurate progress records and ensuring safeguarding and pastoral duties are kept up to date.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
- Experience: Previous experience within a school setting and a strong grasp of the KS2 curriculum.
- Values: A nurturing approach that aligns with our inclusive ethos and a commitment to building strong partnerships between home and school.
- Skills: Ability to adapt support for a range of different needs and a proactive attitude toward resource preparation and classroom management.
