Key Responsibilities as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:- Deliver tailored 1:1 support to a pupil within an alternative educational environment.
- Implement personalised learning plans, adapting tasks to suit the pupil's specific emotional and academic needs.
- Utilise positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe, focussed learning space.
- Foster confidence, emotional regulation, and social skills.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and external support teams to monitor and review progress.
- Experience: Proven track record working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural challenges (e.g., in a PRU, Alternative Provision, or specialist setting).
- Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable. Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de-escalation techniques is a major advantage.
- Skills: Exceptional patience, strong communication skills, and a non-judgemental, empathetic approach.
- Reliability: Consistency is crucial for this pupil; we need someone committed to the daily 08:30 - 12:30 routine.
