Tradewind Recruitment is currently partnering with an outstanding Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Blackpool. We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join their supportive team, working on a small-group basis to help pupils thrive.

The Role

Unlike mainstream classrooms, this role focuses on deeply impactful, small-scale intervention. You will be working with classes made up of up to 5 pupils, allowing you to build strong rapport, understand individual triggers, and deliver tailored emotional and academic support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise your understanding of psychology and human behaviour to support pupils managing SEMH needs and trauma.
  • Work on a small group basis to help pupils engage with their learning and manage their emotions.
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers, therapists, and external support teams to implement individual care plans.
  • De-escalate challenging behaviours and create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology (or a closely related social science discipline).
  • A genuine desire to support children with complex emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
  • Resilience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Prior experience volunteering or working with young people (e.g., youth work, coaching, mentoring, or care work) is highly desirable.
