Early Years (EYFS) 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: South Shore, Blackpool

Contract Type: Temporary / Term-Time Only (Mornings)

Duration: 1st June 2026 - 17th July 2026 (Summer Term)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 11:30

Salary: £14.25 per hour

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to join the team for the upcoming summer term. In this rewarding, morning-only position, you will provide vital 1:1 support for a Nursery-aged pupil who has recently been awarded an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will play a pivotal role in ensuring her final term of the academic year is positive, secure, and enriched with developmental progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 educational and developmental support to a Nursery pupil with an EHCP, catering effectively to her specific learning needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the EYFS team and the school's established pastoral staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Foster the pupil's confidence, resilience, and independence within the early years setting.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Proven, demonstrable experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.
  • Specialist Skills: Prior experience supporting pupils with additional needs or an EHCP is highly advantageous. Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach to early years development are essential.
  • Attributes: A collaborative team player who thrives in a high-expectation, supportive educational environment.
  • Vetting: Possession of an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to undergo a new check) is mandatory.
