Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with an alternative provision setting in Blackley to recruit a dedicated and resilient Humanities Teacher for a full-time role starting 23rd February, running for the remainder of the academic year. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require a more personalised and supportive educational approach, many of whom may present with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or disrupted educational histories.

The Role:

  • Teaching Humanities (History, Geography and/or RE) to small classes of KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting pupils' academic progress, emotional regulation, and re-engagement with learning
  • Managing behaviour effectively using trauma-informed and restorative approaches
  • Working closely with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
  • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS/QTLS (or be an experienced unqualified teacher with relevant AP experience)
  • Have experience working in alternative provision, PRUs, SEMH settings, or similar environments
  • Be adaptable, resilient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • Have strong relationship-building skills and a calm, consistent approach
  • Be passionate about making a difference to vulnerable young people
