A nurturing, "Good" rated small primary school in the BB1 area is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Year 1 classroom. This is a full-time role starting immediately after the February half-term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom support to the Year 1 teacher in a small school setting.
  • Lead Phonics interventions and small-group numeracy activities.
  • Support pupils with diverse learning needs and EAL (English as an Additional Language).
  • Foster a positive learning environment during the transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1.
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and support student wellbeing.
Requirements (Candidate Profile)
  • Level 2 TA Qualification: Must hold a recognized Level 2 (or higher) Teaching Assistant certificate.
  • Primary School Experience: Proven experience working with KS1 or EYFS children.
  • Local Knowledge: Ideally based in or able to commute easily to Blackburn (BB1).
  • Skills: Strong literacy and numeracy skills; knowledge of Phonics frameworks is highly desirable.
  • DBS: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
