Are you a Phonics expert looking for a rewarding role in Early Years? We are seeking a dedicated Interventions Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Blackburn with Darwen. This role is perfect for a practitioner who excels in EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and has a proven track record of delivering high-impact Phonics interventions. This unique position combines core classroom support with specialised SEN (Special Educational Needs) provision, starting immediately after the February half-term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Phonics Delivery: Lead small group and 1:1 Phonics sessions (utilising schemes like Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle) to boost literacy levels in EYFS.
  • SEN Support: Spend two afternoons per week working within the school's dedicated SEN room, supporting children with complex needs, ASD, and speech and language delays.
  • Tracking Progress: Monitor pupil development against the EYFS framework and provide feedback to the Class Teacher and SENCO.
  • Inclusive Practice: Adapt learning materials to ensure all children, including those with SEND, can access the curriculum.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or EYFS Practitioner.
  • Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Phonics and the EYFS curriculum.
  • SEN Knowledge: Experience or a strong interest in working with Special Educational Needs.
  • Qualification: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.
  • Location: Must be able to commute to Blackburn with Darwen.
