Are you a caring and enthusiastic Early Years practitioner looking for a new opportunity this September? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school (or schools) across East Lancashire. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026, supporting children at the very beginning of their educational journey.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within Nursery and/or Reception, helping to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Location: East Lancashire (including Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Accrington & surrounding areas)

Start Date: September 2026

Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based EYFS learning.
  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to support early development.
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and early literacy/numeracy skills.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils' personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Observing and feeding back on pupil progress where required.

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Have experience working within EYFS settings (school or nursery).
  • Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young children.
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
  • Provide professional references and have the legal right to work in the UK.
