Are you a versatile and creative educator with a passion for both technical design and culinary arts? Our prestigious Private School in Blackburn is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Design & Technology to join our forward-thinking department on a permanent basis starting September 2026. This unique role involves teaching Design & Technology (4 days per week) alongside Food Technology (1 day per week). Key Responsibilities
- D&T Delivery (80%): Teach a range of Design & Technology specialisms (such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Systems and Control) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Food Technology (20%): Deliver high-quality Food & Nutrition lessons one day per week, focusing on healthy eating, food provenance, and practical cooking skills.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain rigorous health and safety standards in both the D&T workshop and the food technology suite.
- Innovation: Contribute to the development of a modern curriculum that integrates traditional craftsmanship with digital design (CAD/CAM).
- ECT Induction: For ECTs, we provide a comprehensive support package, including a specialist mentor and a reduced timetable to ensure a smooth transition into the independent sector.
