Tradewind is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in North Birmingham. The successful candidate will support teachers in providing outstanding education to children with special educational needs (SEN) and behavioural needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Work with individual children and small groups, providing differentiated support to meet their specific needs.
- Utilize specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism, including visual aids, social stories, and sensory activities.
- Assist in developing children's communication, social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure positive outcomes for each child.
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports to inform ongoing planning and assessment.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism.
- Knowledge of the EYFS and Primary curriculum, with the ability to support children with autism effectively.
- Proficiency in using specialist strategies and resources for supporting children with autism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with parents, carers, and professionals.
- Strong organizational skills and good record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating a positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
