Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work 121 with a child in year 4. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers, behaviour specialists, and other staff members to support a student with behavioural and emotional challenges. This position offers an opportunity to make a real difference in students\\\’ lives by fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist a yr 4 student with special behavioural needs in the classroom and other school settings.
- Implement behaviour intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of certified professionals.
- Support students in managing emotions and behaviours to promote academic and social success.
- Encourage the student to engage in classroom activities and help them meet learning goals.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor students\\\’ progress.
- Collect and document data on the student\\\’s behaviour.
- Help create and maintain a structured and safe learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and support staff to share progress and concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in special education or behavioural support settings.
- Knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate and patient attitude with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- A high school diploma or equivalent (Associate\\\’s or Bachelor\\\’s degree in education, psychology, or a related field preferred).
