Tradewind Recruitment is working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bedfordshire that is looking for a dedicated and resilient PPA Teacher to join their team from November.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils who face barriers to mainstream education. Working with children and young people with behavioural needs, you'll play a vital role in maintaining continuity in their education, building positive relationships and helping them re-engage with learning.
What you'll be doing:
Delivering engaging and adaptable lessons across a range of subjects and year groups to cover teachers' PPA time
Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs in a specialist educational setting
Establishing clear expectations and promoting positive behaviour through consistent classroom management
Adapting teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and abilities
Creating a structured, safe and supportive learning environment where pupils feel valued and encouraged
Working collaboratively with the wider school team to support pupils' academic progress and personal development
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working in a school or PRU, with experience supporting children with behavioural needs being essential
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Is confident managing challenging behaviour and maintaining clear, consistent boundaries
Is patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils who may have had difficult experiences of education
Can adapt their teaching style to engage pupils with diverse learning needs
Works well as part of a team while using their own initiative
