Tradewind Recruitment is looking for compassionate, adaptable 1:1 Tutors to support children aged 5-16 in Alternative Provision across North Yorkshire.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help students rebuild confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve their potential through personalised tuition.
The role is available for the full academic year, with the flexibility to choose 2-6 hours of work per day around your availability.
What You'll Be Doing
As a 1:1 Tutor, you'll work closely with young people who may have experienced disrupted education, helping them make meaningful progress in a supportive, one-to-one environment.
You'll
Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition in English and Maths (face-to-face or online).
Plan and adapt lessons to meet EHCP and PEP targets.
Build confidence, motivation and a positive attitude towards learning.
Work alongside Virtual Schools, carers, social workers and education professionals to provide consistent support.
Track progress and celebrate every success, no matter how small.
We're Looking For Someone Who
Has experience teaching, tutoring or supporting children and young people, particularly those with SEMH needs or who are Looked After Children (LAC).
Understands the challenges vulnerable learners can face.
Can adapt their teaching style to suit individual needs.
Is patient, reliable and passionate about making a difference.
Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle to travel across North Yorkshire.
QTS, QTLS or another teaching qualification is desirable but not essential, we welcome applicants with relevant experience and the right attitude.
