Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School (Ages 11-16)

Start Date: September 2026 or sooner

Location: Wirral

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Duration: Long-term opportunity with potential to become permanent

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in the Wirral area to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play a key role in supporting students both academically and socially throughout their secondary education.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to help students access learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes in the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, coaching, mentoring, care, youth work, or community setting
  • A positive, proactive, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to support students with varying learning needs and abilities
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • A genuine interest in helping young people succeed

Previous experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs would be advantageous but is not essential.
