Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, supporting classroom teaching, targeted interventions and pupil development across the primary age range.
Role: This position would suit an experienced teaching assistant who is ready to take on greater classroom responsibility without moving into a full teaching role. Working alongside class teachers, you will provide structured support across lessons and may lead planned activities, interventions and small-group sessions.
The role includes:
- Supporting teachers with day-to-day classroom delivery
- Leading small-group learning and intervention sessions
- Providing cover for lessons when required
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
- Reinforcing behaviour and classroom expectations
- Monitoring pupil engagement and feeding back to teaching staff
- Helping prepare resources and learning activities
Experience required: Applicants should have strong experience working within a primary school and be confident supporting pupils across different year groups. A relevant Level 4 qualification or recognised HLTA status would be advantageous, alongside experience leading interventions or covering lessons independently.
