Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEND Support (Lower KS1) at a Primary School in Tameside.
Full-time role providing dedicated support to a pupil in Lower Key Stage 1 with additional SEND requirements, including autism spectrum condition and non-verbal communication needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to the pupil.
- Assist with learning, engagement and social development.
- Implement strategies to support communication and emotional regulation.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SEND Co and wider school staff.
- Provide personal care when required.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working within a Primary School setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism.
- Comfortable working with non-verbal pupils and using communication strategies.
- Patient, caring, and resilient.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- Comfortable providing personal care.
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
