Tradewind Recruitment is supporting a popular and well-established primary school in Amersham, Buckinghamshire seeking an experienced PPA Teacher to join the team on a maternity cover contract. The school offers a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to become independent learners while staff benefit from collaborative leadership and well-planned curriculum resources.

This role is primarily focused on providing high-quality PPA cover across the school, allowing class teachers dedicated planning and preparation time. A specialism in Religious Education, Music or Modern Foreign Languages would be welcomed, although the school is equally keen to adapt the timetable around an experienced primary teacher's strengths wherever possible.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons during teachers' PPA time.
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils across multiple classes.
  • Providing feedback to class teachers following lessons.
  • Contributing positively to the wider life of the school.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), HLTA (Level 4) or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience teaching within a UK primary school.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Confidence teaching across different primary age groups.
  • Flexibility and excellent organisational skills.
  • A curriculum strength in RE, Music or MFL would be advantageous but is not essential.
