Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a patient, empathetic, and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant to support students with additional learning needs at a welcoming secondary school in Flintshire from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and experienced in supporting young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ALN
- Assist with differentiated learning activities in and out of the classroom
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, ALNCOs, and external professionals
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with ALN/SEND (school-based or other settings)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
- A calm, adaptable and caring approach to support individual needs
- EWC registration as a Learning Support Worker (or willingness to register before the role begins)
Desirable (not essential):
- Training in Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, or other SEND strategies
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
