Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Yatton, Nailsea and Backwell) – September Starts

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated Teaching Assistants to work across a range of thriving primary schools in and around Nailsea and Backwell. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education or looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive setting.

Role Details

  • Position: Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools

  • Location: Yatton, Nailsea and Backwell, North Somerset

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Contract: Full-time, Part time, term-time only

  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience ( 90 – 110 a day)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children in their learning, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and pupil engagement
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support, including for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Encouraging children\’s social and emotional development through play and structured activities

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach
  • Previous experience in a school or childcare setting (desirable but not essential)
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
