1:1 Teaching Assistant - SEN Support Hub (DE24) Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity | Derby

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs?

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary academy in Derby to recruit a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support students within a specialist SEN Hub on a full-time basis.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated support to students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Build positive relationships and act as a trusted adult.
  • Support pupils both within the SEN Hub and mainstream lessons where appropriate.
  • Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver personalised learning strategies.
  • Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.
  • Is patient, resilient, and adaptable.
  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant support work experience (desirable but not essential).
