Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to work at a local school in Hull on a full time, temporary basis.
The Role
Position: Catering Assistant
Location: Hull
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am - 2:30pm
Pay Rate: £15 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until Christmas 2026
Contract: Full-time
Essential Requirements
- A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
- A DBS registered on the Update Service.
- Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment is desirable.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive, flexible and hardworking attitude.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- The ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of food.
- Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties.
- Washing up and keeping kitchen equipment clean.
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen surfaces, utensils and work areas.
- Ensuring food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained.
- Assisting with the safe storage and handling of food.
- Helping with the setup and clearing of dining areas.
- Providing a friendly and professional service to pupils and school staff.
- Following instructions from the kitchen supervisor or catering manager.
