Unqualified English Teacher - Wellingborough
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire | Start Date: October 2026 | Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (with potential to become permanent) | Salary: £100-£160 per day
The Role
- Deliver structured and engaging English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Support pupils in developing their literacy, comprehension, writing and analytical skills
- Encourage students to engage with a wide range of texts and develop confidence in English
- Create a focused, positive and purposeful classroom environment
- Adapt your teaching approach to support students with different abilities and learning needs
- Work closely with experienced English teachers to develop your classroom practice
- Support students with their progress and provide encouragement and guidance
- Assist with classroom activities, assessments and learning resources
- Contribute positively to the English department and wider school community
- Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times
About You
- A degree in English, English Literature or a related subject, or strong English subject knowledge
- Experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and motivate students
- Organised, adaptable and willing to learn
- Passionate about English and education
- Interested in developing a long-term career in teaching
- Considering future routes such as PGCE, SCITT or teacher apprenticeships
- Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Strong classroom presence and enthusiasm for working with young people
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to apply for one
