This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a confident school leader who can provide stability, direction, and strong strategic leadership during an important period for the school.

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior leader with a clear understanding of primary education, a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, and the ability to inspire and develop staff.

You will provide visible and supportive leadership while maintaining high expectations for teaching, learning, behaviour, and outcomes.

The Role

As Interim Headteacher, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the school, ensuring that pupils continue to receive a high-quality, safe, and inclusive education.

You will work closely with staff, governors, parents, and external partners to maintain the school's strengths while identifying and addressing areas for development.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing strong, visible, and supportive leadership across the school
• Setting and maintaining high expectations for teaching, learning, behaviour, and attendance
• Leading and developing staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
• Overseeing safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, attendance, and pastoral provision
• Supporting and developing a positive and inclusive school culture
• Working closely with governors and relevant external agencies
• Monitoring school performance and driving appropriate school improvement priorities
• Ensuring the school continues to meet statutory and regulatory requirements
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and the wider school community

Ideal Candidate

• Proven senior leadership experience within a primary or junior school setting
• Previous experience as a Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, or experienced senior leader
• A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching and learning
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• The ability to provide calm, confident, and visible leadership
• Strong communication and relationship-building skillsA commitment to inclusion and ensuring every child can achieve their potential
• A strategic and solution-focused approach to school improvement
• The resilience, flexibility, and emotional intelligence required to lead effectively on an interim basis
