Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a strong and experienced KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Watford. This is a long-term temporary position running through to the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

The school is keen to move quickly and is already arranging interviews and trial days for suitable applicants.

About the Class

You will be teaching a small Year 1 class, supported by two experienced and supportive TAs.

The school is particularly keen to hear from teachers who have a strong understanding of SEN and additional learning needs. Experience of adapting lessons, differentiating effectively and supporting pupils with a range of needs is essential for this position.

You will need to be confident taking ownership of the class while working collaboratively with the support staff around you.

The Ideal Teacher

The successful applicant will have:

• QTS and recent Year 1 / KS1 teaching experience
• Essential experience working with pupils with SEN
• Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and phonics
• The ability to adapt teaching to meet different learning needs
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management
• A calm, nurturing and inclusive approach
• High expectations for learning, behaviour and pupil wellbeing
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Availability to start immediately
