Are you practical, reliable, and experienced in maintaining buildings and facilities? Do you take pride in creating a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment? We're looking for a proactive School Caretaker to support a school in Warrington.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Caretaker to support the day-to-day running and maintenance of the school site. You'll play an important role in ensuring the school buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment are safe, secure, clean, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the school site
- Ensure the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and well maintained
- Complete routine checks of the site, facilities, and equipment
- Respond to maintenance issues and report more complex repairs where required
- Support the opening and securing of the school site
- Maintain outdoor areas, including basic grounds and general upkeep
- Assist with deliveries, moving furniture, setting up rooms, and other site requirements
- Monitor health and safety across the site and report any concerns
- Work closely with school staff and external contractors where required
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or similar role
- Good practical and DIY skills
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to identify and respond to maintenance issues
- A reliable, proactive, and flexible approach
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience working within a school or education setting
- Relevant maintenance, facilities, or trade qualifications
- Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, decorating, or general building maintenance
- Knowledge of safeguarding and site security procedures
