Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to support a child in a Year 3 class at a welcoming Junior School in the DE55 postcode area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, graduate, or someone with relevant experience working with children to join a supportive school environment and make a real difference to pupils' learning and development.

This role is to support a child on a 1:1 basis - the child has both ASD and ADHD.

The role is available to start as soon as possible, with the potential for the position to continue depending on the needs of the school.

The Role

As a Year 3 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the child through their learning and help create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

• Supporting the Year 3 class teacher with teaching and learning activities.
• Working with pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Supporting children who may require additional help with their learning.
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
• Supporting children with additional needs where required.
• Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assisting with classroom preparation and general day-to-day activities.

We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or education setting and with special educational needs.
• Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 would be advantageous.
• A positive, patient and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children.
• A proactive and adaptable attitude.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential if you have relevant experience working with children.
