The Role
- Supporting pupils across the Primary age range within the classroom.
- Working on a 1:1, small-group, or whole-class basis depending on the needs of the school.
- Supporting pupils with their learning, development, confidence, and independence.
- Working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning activities.
- Providing additional support to pupils who may have SEND or additional learning needs.
- Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and motivated throughout the school day.
- Supporting children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils during lessons, break times, lunchtimes, and school activities.
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff.
- Following school policies and maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional conduct.
Who We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be highly advantageous.
- Patience, empathy, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- A reliable and professional approach to work.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential due to the location of some schools.
- Must be available for full-time, long-term roles, Monday to Friday.
- The right to work in the UK.
- An enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service, or willingness to obtain a new one. A new DBS costs £62, and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.
- If you have been out of the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, you will also need to obtain an overseas police check.
