Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Design Technology and RE to join a secondary school in Sefton, starting after the October half-term break. This is a full-time temporary position running until Christmas, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking for a short-term role.

The school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across Design Technology and Religious Education, supporting pupils to develop their knowledge, practical skills and confidence.

The Role

  • Teaching Design Technology and RE across the secondary age range.
  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons.
  • Supporting pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
  • Assessing pupil progress and providing appropriate feedback.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider teaching team.
  • Contributing positively to the school's wider ethos and environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology and RE.
  • Experience teaching within a secondary school.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across both subjects.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to supporting pupils' progress and achievement.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment.
