Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential? Do you want to work in a welcoming and inclusive primary school environment where you can make a genuine difference to a child's learning, confidence, and development? We are working closely with a supportive primary school in Rugby that is seeking to appoint a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2026.

The Role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs
  • Working 10:00am-2:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Supporting the pupil's academic, social, emotional, and personal development
  • Helping the pupil access learning and overcome barriers to their education
  • Supporting communication, social interaction, independence, and confidence
  • Helping the pupil manage emotions and regulate behaviour where required
  • Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and interventions
  • Creating a calm, positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to provide consistent support

Are passionate about making a difference to children with additional needs. Are considering a career in education, SEN support, or child development. Want to gain or build experience working within a primary school. Are looking for a long-term part-time role with consistent hours. Enjoy building positive relationships with children and supporting their individual needs.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Is patient, caring, resilient, and adaptable
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Is reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Can support behaviour and emotional regulation in a calm and consistent manner
  • Has experience working with children in education, care, nursery, youth work, coaching, or a similar setting - desirable but not essential
  • Has a genuine interest in supporting children with SEN
  • Is available to work 10:00am-2:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Is eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
