Behaviour Teaching Assistant - Secondary Academy in Rochdale
Start: ASAP. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am-3:15pm. Contract: Ongoing temporary role via Tradewind.
This is an immediate-start supply role, perfect for someone passionate about supporting young people and helping them thrive in school. You'll work closely with the school's pastoral team, supporting students with behaviour, engagement, emotional needs, and confidence building - helping them stay focused, safe, and ready to learn.
Ideal Background:
- Working with teenagers in schools, youth projects, community groups, or performing arts
- Supporting young people with behaviour, emotional regulation, or confidence
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach in challenging situations
- Understanding of trauma, attachment issues, or SEMH needs (desirable, not essential)
- TA qualifications are great but not required - full training provided
Recruitment Criteria (Required):
- At least 3 months of recent experience working as a teaching assistant in a UK school, supported by detailed references
- TA qualifications are beneficial but not essential
- Must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS, and provide Overseas Police Checks if applicable
- Must provide a CV with full employment and education history, with all gaps explained
- Have the legal right to work full-time in the UK with no restrictions
