Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers, develop positive behaviours and reach their full potential? Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Radcliffe. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement or social challenges.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage their behaviour and engage positively with school life.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and support
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting students to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
- Helping pupils understand and make positive changes to their behaviour
- Encouraging engagement with learning and improving attendance
- Supporting pupils who may be at risk of disengaging from education
- Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team
- Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
- De-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries
About You
The successful candidate will be:
- Patient, calm and resilient
- Confident managing challenging behaviour
- Able to build strong relationships with young people
- Consistent and confident in maintaining boundaries
- Empathetic and understanding of the challenges young people may face
- A strong communicator and team player
- Passionate about helping young people succeed
- Able to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Experience working in secondary schools, behaviour support, youth work, pastoral care, SEMH settings, residential care or similar environments would be highly beneficial.
- We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, SEMH needs or disengagement from education.
